GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all India examination which examines your expertise in Engineering and Technology Subjects. GATE is the stepping stone for Master’s Degree among leading institutions and various government jobs in India.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted by the joint venture of Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and Government of India.
The performance of each candidate is reflected through the achieved GATE SCORE, which in turn opens up a gateway for admissions to various post-graduate programs (eg. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Higher Educational Institutes in India. Also the GATE SCORE will help to eliminate the basic level for certain Public Sector jobs in India.
