RRB JE

Candidates with an Engineering background and aspiring for a Government job can apply for RRB JE 2019.Candidates must have the necessary Educational/Technical qualifications from a recognized Board/University/institute as on the closing date of ONLINE Registration (31.01.2019). Candidates awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification are not eligible.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Minimum: 18yrs
Maximum:33yrs


Minimum marks:

UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%.

The recruitment process involves, 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd stage CBT, and Document Verification/ Medical Examination. Selection is done on merit basis, on the basis of CBTs.

CBT 1

a. Mathematics Paper : Number systems, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM and HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern.
b. General Intelligence and Reasoning paper : Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jum -bling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, reasoning, Classification, Directions, Arguments and Assumptions etc.
c. General Awareness paper : Knowledge of Current affairs, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports, scientific and technological developments etc.
d. General Science paper : Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences (up to 10th Standard CBSE syllabus


CBT 2

a) General Awareness : Current affairs, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports, General scientific and technological developments etc.
b) Physics and Chemistry: 10th standard CBSE syllabus.
c) Computers and Applications: Architecture of Computers; input and Output devices; Storage devices, Networking, Operating System like Windows, Unix, Linux; MS Office; Various data representation; Internet and Email; Websites & Web Browsers; Computer Virus.
d) Environment and Pollution Control: Environment; Adverse effect of environmental pollution and control strategies; Air, water and Noise pollution, their effect and control; Waste Management, Global warming; Acid rain; Ozone depletion.
e) Technical Abilities: The educational qualifications mentioned , have been grouped into different exam groups . Questions on the Technical abilities are framed in the syllabus defined for various Exam Groups .

Negative marking for incorrect answers in CBTs. 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question is deducted for wrong answer.
